What We Are About
The International Studies program seeks to familiarize you
with the global community in which you live and to prepare you for careers
involving international interactions.
The major provides you with a variety of opportunities to explore issues from
economic, social, cultural and environmental perspectives.
Foreign language training and study abroad experiences are incorporated into
the program and special attention is given to British Columbia's immediate
international neighbours: the Pacific Rim countries, the nations of the
Circumpolar North, and the United States.
Congratulations 2011 Graduates
UNBC students are attempting to fold 1000 origami cranes to show their support
for the Japanese victims. Elsewhere, a group of Japanese residents have
organized a group called "PG Saves Japan". The group is working on finalizing a
schedule of public fund-raising events and are asking for donations which will
support victims of the disaster through the Canadian Red Cross. (In photo students and UNBC President Dr. George Iwama)

The
competition put on by Canadian personality, Rick Mercer challenged schools
across the country to raise money for Bednets in Africa. UNBC raised over 18
