Active Minds is now hiring for our summer programs at UNBC! This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on leadership experience, engage with youth, and make a meaningful impact in our community by running STEAM camps and teaching youth about STEAM.

Meet Rathika!
Coordinator of Youth and Transition Programs
Rathika (she/her) has a Master’s in Environmental Science and a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Biology, she brings brains, passion, and serious science energy to the Active Minds team. She’s most excited about this year’s Mystery Molecules, loves anything green, and here’s a fun fact: chocolate is the key to her heart.
Meet Nicky!
Coordinator of Youth and Transition Programs
Nicky (she/her) has a Master’s in Marketing and Communications, she brings creativity, strategy, and heart to everything she does. This summer, she’s most excited about Wilderness Wonderland — and yes, her favourite color is green. Nicky’s from Transylvania… and rumor has it, she might know a vampire or two.

Program Instructor
Ailis (she/her) is a Biomedical Studies major from Vanderhoof with a serious love for biology (and a soft spot for rewatching her favorite movies). When she’s not hitting the books, she’s probably out running or walking the trails around Prince George — or curled up with a good read. Science, stories, and fresh air? That’s her perfect mix!

Program Instructor
Renee (she/her) is heading into her second year as a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major at UNBC this fall. With dreams of becoming either a high school science teacher or a forensic scientist (or both!), Renee’s passion for problem-solving runs deep — especially when it comes to crosswords, Sudoku, and all the New York Times Games.

Student Communications and Administrative Assistant
Jitika (she/her) is a Biology major with a love for nature and wildlife — you’ll likely find her this summer out in the wild, joyfully identifying insects (some with scientific accuracy, others with creative flair).She’s also an avid reader who’s always on the lookout for her next great book adventure.
