Dr. Jianhui Zhou is an Assistant Professor in Integrated Wood Engineering and teaches in the Master of Engineering in Integrated Wood Design program at the University of Northern British Columbia since July 1, 2018. Before joining UNBC, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta (2017-2018). He was a Vanier Scholar (2015-2018) and obtained his PhD degree in Wood Engineering from the University of New Brunswick (2018). He has participated in various projects in the field of wood engineering and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His research interests are focused on wood building acoustics and vibration, engineered wood products, wood mechanics, multiphysics in wood engineering. His current research focuses the sound insulation performance in mass timber buildings as well to understand the interaction between serviceability, structural, acoustics and fire performance of timber-concrete composite floors for optimal design.
