Biography

Lauren Irving is a family nurse practitioner from Prince George, BC. She works at a busy primary care clinic called Central Interior Native Health Society, where she provides primary care services to a large panel of patients. She also works at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), teaching in the nurse practitioner program. Lauren is currently a Health Sciences PhD student at UNBC, studying patient and provider knowledge about cardiovascular risk after experiencing placental disorders of pregnancy using a mixed methods approach. Lauren is particularly interested in research on rural and northern primary care. Lauren’s hobbies include all things outside. You can often find her exploring the local trails around her home. She is also an avid soccer fan and plays and coaches soccer in her community. During the winter months, she volunteers with the Canadian Ski Patrol at the local Nordic ski facility.
