The Aboriginal Community Connections Coordinator (ACCC) facilitates and develops relationships between the First Nations Centre and other communities within UNBC including students, faculty, staff and administration. They also help UNBC to form connections and relationships with external communities including First Nations governments and organizations, school districts, and community organizations and governments. The ACCC helps to facilitate access to UNBC for Aboriginal learners as well as to ensure meaningful and ongoing collaboration with the communities UNBC and the FNC serves.
- Providing information to and fostering relationships with Aboriginal Education Workers and Education Coordinators.
- Connecting with communities and organizations to discover how UNBC can be involved with them.
- Working closely with UNBC’s Recruitment and Registrars’ departments to help Aboriginal students access post-secondary education.
- Designing and/or delivering programs or events that help to ensure Aboriginal student success, such as the Aboriginal Alumni Speaker Series.
