Bulkley Valley Research Centre

  • The Bulkley Valley Research Centre - Irving Fox Memorial Scholarship for Natural and Cultural Resources Research and Management is awarded to a student from northwestern British Columbia or a student enrolled in or entering studies in natural and cultural resources research and/or management in northwestern British Columbia.  The value of the award is $750 - $1000.

Field Research Assistant
  • A UNBC grad student will be hiring a summer Field Research Assistant to help collect plant and soil data in support of her Master of Science thesis research, based out of the Terrace campus.
    • July through August, 2018 (6 weeks, dates to be determined).
    • Wage is $15/hour (plus overtime for any long field days).
  • The research objectives are to identify environmental factors and management practices that promote vegetation recovery on deactivated or closed forest roads after timber harvesting. The abundance of different plant species will be described and soil samples will be collected for laboratory analysis. If you are looking to gain experience in vegetation and soil field work, this is a great summer job opportunity.
