Is your kitchen tap leaking? Has your door lock been acting strange? If you have a maintenance issue to report, you can submit a request for maintenance in the Residence Portal! Follow the steps below:
- To submit your request, login to the Residence Portal and use the Maintenance Request button in the top menu.
- From there, you can select Requests for Suites and Bedrooms (for items in your bedroom or communal areas like your kitchen, living room, or bathroom) or Requests for Public Spaces (for areas outside your suite such as common lounges, hallways, or elevators) to submit your maintenance request.
- Select My Jobs to review existing requests for your bedroom or Shared Jobs/Public Jobs to view existing requests for shared or public spaces. If this is a new request to report, press New Request to create one.
- Select the room you want to make the request for and fill in the information on the page, including the Category (what type of thing needs repair) and Item (what specifically needs repair) and a brief Description of the problem. When you’ve done that, press Save Request at the bottom of the page to submit the request.
Once your request has been submitted, you can see it on the Public Spaces Maintenance or Suite and Bedroom Maintenance page. You can generally expect UNBC maintenance staff to respond within 2 business days. You are not required to be at home for staff to complete the work. Maintenance staff leave a door hanger to indicate they have been to your suite and the issue has been resolved, or to communicate next steps. If your request is urgent (your radiator is leaking, or your toilet won’t flush) please call the Housing Office at 250-960-6430 during business hours or the RA on-call evenings and weekends.
