UNBC Food Services has implemented processes and procedures to ensure students, staff, and faculty enjoy the best possible dining experience while respecting new safety measures and physical distancing guidelines. Our Health & Safety strategy for food preparation and service centers on reducing surface contact and sanitizing surfaces frequently.

What we are doing
Agora Dining Hall
While the Agora Dining Hall delivers an all-you-care-to-eat service model, food stations are no longer self-serve or self-cook. Staff provide full service and work directly with guests to ensure your dietary and allergy needs are exceeded.
We provide reusable dishware for those who dine-in, while disposable dishware accommodates those who choose to take-out. Plates, cutlery, cutlery, cups, and mugs are supplied at food stations to avoid direct contact.
We’ve implemented enhanced cleaning procedures according to the strictest hygiene standards, with increased cleaning frequency in high-touch areas.
Staff wear protective masks and gloves. In addition, all staff participate in temperature monitoring before every shift and are asked to stay home if they are ill.
A limited number of guests are permitted in the Agora Dining Hall serving and seating areas to respect physical distancing measures. Occupancy limits are posted.
We’ve installed hand sanitizer stations throughout our facility, and transparent shields are at the service counters.
Directional signage helps guests navigate the serving area in the Agora Dining Hall, and physical distancing markers on the floor indicate the six feet (two metre) spacing that guests should maintain at all times.
What you can do
Please wait behind the marker(s) on the floor for one guest to be served at a time.
Wear your mask until you are seated at your table.
If possible, please pay cashless with your UNBC Card (Dining Dollars), debit/credit card.
We recommend that you wear a face mask when you are not able to physically distance from others.
If you touch it, then please take it. To reduce touch points for the Fresh & Fast convenience items, please only touch items you are taking.
Avoid bringing in containers and bags from home in order to keep the seating area clean and reduce the risk of contamination to others.
Stay home when you are ill or if you have flu symptoms such as fever or cough.
Remember to thoroughly wash/sanitize your hands for 30 seconds prior to and after visiting the Agora Dining Hall.
