Parchment Information

You need to complete the online RSVP form in order to be able to receive your parchment during the ceremony.

Not attending the ceremony?

There are two ways to receive your parchment if you cannot make the ceremony, but you must indicate which one you prefer by filling out the required information on the online RSVP form, as well as pay any associated fees, before your request can be processed.

Parchment Mailing


  1. Indicate you will not be attending the ceremony on the online RSVP form.
  2. Confirm correct address at time of mailing in June (cannot just be a PO Box).
  3. Provide a phone number where you can be reached during business hours.
  4. Submit form by the deadline.
  5. Contact the Cashier's Office to pay the courier fee: or 250-960-5631 OR pay online using your Student Online Services.

Parchment courier fees that are paid by the Tuesday before Convocation will be couriered in June. Delivery times vary depending on mailing address, so please give at least two weeks for arrival.

(In effect as of April 1, 2017)

  • $20.00 CAD within BC
  • $30.00 CAD within Canada
  • $30.00 CAD within the United States
  • $55.00 CAD outside North America           

Please note we will not be able to forward parchments to any student who has outstanding fees. You are responsible to confirm that all outstanding fees are paid by contacting the Cashier’s Office at or 250-960-5631.

Parchment Pick-Up


  1. Indicate you will not be attending the ceremony on the online RSVP form.
  2. Indicate you would like to pick up your parchment.
  3. Complete a Parchment Pickup Letter of Authorization and submit to the Office of the Registrar. IF you need someone else to pick-up see Additional Notes below.
  4. Pick-up your parchment at the Office of the Registrar starting the following week after the Convocation Ceremonies (ID is required).

Note: There is no fee to pick-up your parchment.

Additional Notes

If you are filling out the Parchment Pickup Letter of Authorization, your request will not be processed unless you follow the instructions correctly. ID will be required by your designate.

Certified Copies

UNBC issues only ONE parchment to each graduate. Upon request, the Office of the Registrar will certify a “True Copy” of a parchment for submission to an employer or a foreign government.

If you require a certified copy of your parchment, please contact the Office of the Registrar. You must fill out the Certified True Copy form and submit along with corresponding fee.
