The University of Northern British Columbia has made a strong
commitment to research, recognizing research activity as an important engine of
growth. UNBC has emerged as a strong research centre and has developed a
national reputation as a research-intensive small university, particularly in
areas relevant to the North.
The overall objective of the RDI program is to support
research in its initial stages by supporting the development of new ways of
analyzing, structuring, integrating and transferring knowledge in the
humanities and the social sciences. The specific objectives of the program are
to help researchers to: develop
new research questions; explore conceptual and methodological perspectives and
directions; and critically analyze and assess research, including its
achievements, impacts, strengths and state of development.
Please note that all grant applications are due to the
Office of Research at least five (5) business days before the external
deadline date.
SSHRC RDI application deadline: April 7, 2010
UNBC internal submission deadline: March 30, 2010
