Join Student Life and Orientation for a warm welcome to UNBC!


Orientation Day, January 2, 2024

  • 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Orientation Day Drop-In Social
    • Drop by the Doug Little Lounge and Wintergarden to meet representatives from Student Life and Orientation, grab some swag, and enjoy some snacks and hot chocolate/coffee/tea.
  • 1:00 p.m. - Campus Tours
    • Looking to find your way around campus and see where all of the important services and supports are? Join the Recruiters for campus tours! They will be waiting for you in the Wintergarden.
  • 6:00 p.m. - New Student Welcome Dinner
    • We are excited to invite you to the New Student Dinner at UNBC, a special evening designed to welcome you into our university community. Join us on Tuesday, January 2nd, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, for a delightful dinner and the chance to meet fellow students, and distinguished members of the university. This is a great opportunity to make new connections, learn about the resources available to you, and feel the warmth of the UNBC family. Please RSVP here before Dec 22nd to secure your spot.

Pancake Breakfast and Hot Chocolate Station, January 9 | 9:00 am - 11:00 am | Location: NUSC Event Space

  • NUGSS and Student Life are collaborating to bring you freshly flipped pancakes in the NUSC Event Space, Room 6-250. Meet UNBC senior administration, faculty, and staff, and enjoy a freshly made pancake or two or three
  • There will also be a hot chocolate station so you can make yourself a customized hot chocolate (whipped cream, sprinkles, candy canes, chocolate sauce, marshmallows, yum!)

For International Students

Social Insurance Clinic (SIN), January 2nd & 5th | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

  • Service Canada will be at UNBC outside the International Office to help International students apply for Social Insurance Number (SIN). International Student Orientation. January 5th | 10:00 am | Location: 7-150

  • Meet the International Team and learn about the services we offer. We will discuss study permit requirements and what you need to know about working, living, and studying at UNBC.
