Both degrees focus upon International Development. The MA Development
Economics is a graduate degree in Economics, specializing in
development. The normal requirement for admission to this degree is an
undergraduate degree in Economics, as strong economic analytical and
quantitative skills are necessary. These skills are developed further in
graduate courses. The MA Development Economics is offered by the
Department of Economics.
The MA International Studies (International Development stream) is an interdisciplinary
degree focuses upon International Development. The normal requirement for admission
to this degree is an undergraduate degree in one of the Social Sciences. Graduate courses are taken in International Studies, Economics, and other areas, depending upon students’ interests. The MA International Studies degree is offered jointly by the Departments of Economics and International Studies.
