Joint Field Courses for Canadian and Chinese Graduate and Undergraduate Students
Biology 498-3 and NRES 798-3
 
Objectives:
This field course provides both Canadian and Chinese students with an appreciation of, and first-hand experience with, the interaction between intensive human development,
environment attributes, and biodiversity, with a focus on biological and environmental tools to assess perturbations in aquatic environments and biodiversity, while at the same time providing insight into differing attitudes and perceptions
about development and conservation between the two cultures.

The University of Northern British Columbia offers a range of BSc degrees for students wishing to pursue interests in biology. Degrees in biological sciences are housed within the College of Science and Management and involve courses taught by faculty members with biological interests within the Biology, Forestry, Environmental Studies, Geography and Chemistry Programs.  BSc degrees range from traditional fields of Biology within the Biology Major, and more applied studies within the Natural Resource Management (NRM) majors.
