Driver Responsibility

Drivers are required to park in designated, authorized parking spaces.  Parking outside of a designated parking space or in any unauthorized area will result in the issuance of a parking citation; and/or the application of an immobilization device (boot); and/or towing of the vehicle at the owner's expense.  Not finding an authorized parking space does not justify violating parking policies.

With the exception of reserved permits, all other parking permits authorize a vehicle to be parked in designated lots however, due to limited availability a parking space cannot be guaranteed.  Allocating time for parking is recommended.

All parking permits must be clearly visible hanging face out on the rear view mirror or on the driver’s side dash. Permits cannot be sold or given to another person.  If the permit holder registers more than one vehicle under the permit it is the holder’s responsibility to move the permit when changing vehicles.  If you forget your Permit, you will have to purchase the required time from a pay station.

Parking permits are the property of UNBC and upon expiry or cancellation must be returned to Parking Services.

NOTE:  During Winter months all roadways and lots will be closed to parking from 1:00am to 7:30am to aid in snow removal.  Any vehicle parked during these times are subject to the issuance of a parking citation; and/or the application of an immobilization device (boot); and/or towing of the vehicle at the owner's expense.
