The University of Northern British Columbia has participated for the
first time in the Globe and Mail’s University Report Card, which was
published today. In many categories, UNBC placed among the best in
Canada and among the best in British Columbia.

Unlike Maclean’s magazine, which ranks universities nationwide, the
Globe and Mail conducts a survey of students at 55 universities and
presents the results in 15 categories ranging from overall student
satisfaction to the quality of campus technology. Seven universities
from BC participated in the survey: UNBC, UBC, Simon Fraser, UVic, Thompson
Rivers University, UBC Okanagan, and the University of the Fraser
Valley.
Highlights for UNBC include:
-
Placing first province-wide in the class size, course registration, and campus buildings categories.
-
Placing second province-wide in overall student satisfaction and the
quality of teaching, quality of education, student-faculty interaction,
academic reputation, extracurricular activities, campus atmosphere, and
campus technology.
The Globe and Mail surveyed more than 43,000 undergraduate students in
developing its University Report Card. It’s the 7th issue of the
publication.
