UNBC Celebrates Academic Achievers

Nearly 50 of the top Grade 12 students from central BC will be participating in an Academic Achievers event at UNBC tomorrow, which is being held to reward them for their academic achievements to date. Students are attending from Valemount, McBride, and Prince George secondary schools: PGSS, College Heights, DP Todd, Duchess Park, and Kelly Road.

Organized by School District #57 and UNBC, the annual Academic Achievers event is open to students who achieved straight A’s (or all A’s and one B) during grade 11. The students will spend the afternoon at UNBC, in advance of an awards ceremony that will be hosted by UNBC President Don Cozzetto and School District Superintendent Brian Pepper.

University-style lectures by UNBC professors

Robert Budde (English) – So You Have a Novel Stuck in Your Head
Ken Prkachin (Psychology) – Lie Detection

Awards ceremony in the Atrium of the Administration Building
