Over the past ten years, the Maclean's university ranking issue has
sold millions of copies and has become an important yardstick for comparing
universities across the country. Maclean's is heavily used by prospective
students, parents, and school counsellors when making decisions about
post-secondary institutions.
The visit to UNBC will be Ms Dowsett-Johnson's first. She will be in
Prince George to participate in a workshop for high school and college
counsellors and career advisors. Ms Dowsett-Johnson is a Canadian authority
on post-secondary education issues and is a powerful public speaker.
UNBC has been included in the Maclean's university issue for three
years and has maintained a top 10 position in each of the years it has
been ranked. The quality of the faculty and the commitment to acquiring
new library acquisitions
have consistently earned the University top marks.
