The NSERC/SSHRC General Research Fund is intended to enhance the quality of research in the natural sciences and engineering or in the social sciences and humanities. Funding may be provided as:
- Start-up funding to new faculty members
- Bridge funding to faculty members between applications
- Additional funding to faculty members in support of their research
