Over the past several months, a working group consisting of representatives of diverse faith communities has been meeting to discern the role and place of spiritual care in the context of the major restructuring at UNBC. The following has been adopted.

Vision Statement

The Interfaith Spiritual Care Centre is a place to make connections within a spiritual community in an interfaith context to find spiritual support.

Mandate Statement

The Interfaith Spiritual Care Centre is a student-centred resource. As an integral part of the student experience:

  • It is a welcoming space that provides spiritual and religious support;
  • It is a place that models interfaith dialogue, consultation, and community;
  • It is a place of presence, prayer, worship, self-reflection, and meditation;
  • It connects those who desire it to communities of practice.

Visiting the Interfaith Spiritual Care Centre

The Spiritual Care Space can be found in room 7-210 in the Agora, just next to the Security desk. We are pleased to be able to welcome the UNBC community into the chapel space for in-person connection and spiritual practice. All are welcome at any time, we offer 24 hour access for prayer, meditation, or other spiritual practices. Just ask security to open the door for you.

You don't need a specific reason to visit the Interfaith Spiritual Care Centre. Everyone is welcome. Drop-in, relax, and visit with other students or a chaplain.

If you would like to arrange a time to meet with a chaplain outside of regularly scheduled chapel hours, or would like to inquire about spiritual care services, please contact us at spiritual.care@unbc.ca.
