Natural Architecture
The Prince George campus has been designed to reflect the northern
environment. Large wood beams frame sunlit atriums, while slate and
stone are featured prominently on floors and columns. To further
strengthen the connection between the campus and the environment, none
of the buildings is taller than the surrounding trees. |
|
Surroundings
The campus sits on about 550 hectares of university property, providing an ideal
outdoor classroom for courses ranging from forestry to anthropology.
From a recreational perspective, trails from the campus connect to a
network of nearly 50km of hiking, biking, and skiing trails in Forests
for the World and along the Cranbrook Hill Greenway. www.unbc.ca/northernbc

Technology
UNBC was the first university in North America to have fibre-optic cable connecting every classroom and laboratory
on its campus. UNBC also boasts campus-wide high-speed wireless internet
access, as well as a powerful one-gigabit per
second network that allows for live lectures between medical
classrooms in Vancouver, Victoria, and Prince George. |
