The School of Economics at UNBC offers dynamic research-driven programs that prepare students with modern analytical tools to tackle today’s complex economic challenges. Our faculty are leaders in diverse fields—including environmental and natural resource economics; food security and agricultural economics; health and wellbeing; development and international economics; and applied econometrics and benefit-cost analysis.

BA Economics and BSc Economics
The School of Economics offers both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics. In addition to stand-alone degrees, students have the opportunity to pursue joint majors with a variety of disciplines and can also complement their studies with minors in Economics or International Development Studies.

MA Development Economics
The MA in Development Economics is a graduate degree that provides advanced, applied training in economic analysis, with a strong emphasis on real-world skills and policy application. The program offers flexible completion options, allowing students to study full-time or part-time. Students can choose between a course-based stream or a research-based stream that includes either a project or a thesis.
