UBC Northern Medical Program celebrates Class of 2025
The NMP celebrated its eighteenth graduating class at UNBC's campus in Prince George with a traditional White Coat Ceremony, ahead of their convocation at UBC this May.

The UBC Northern Medical Program celebrated the Class of 2025 on April 17. To mark their transition from students to doctors, the class received cedar shingles and long white coats during a special White Coat Ceremony.

The cedar for the shingles is sustainably sourced and sawn by Cedar Valley Holdings Ltd. and each shingle is sanded, beveled, etched and coated by Glacier Ridge Services; both organizations are based in the Village of Valemount.
The 29 graduates, as part of their next stage of training, now move into two to seven years of medical residency and fellowships, depending on specialty. Sixteen graduates are entering family medicine residency programs, with many training in rural and smaller communities. The remaining students have matched to a range of other specialties including Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Psychiatry and Radiation Oncology.
The UBC Northern Medical Program (NMP) graduation celebration precedes the formal convocation for the students, taking place at UBC on May 21, at which they will receive their official medical degrees.
The NMP is a distributed program site of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), delivered in partnership with UNBC.
