What inspired you to pursue your program?

I was inspired to pursue physiotherapy after having the opportunity to work with adults with intellectual disabilities, where I saw how education and exercise instruction could positively impact their lives. This experience, combined with my academic background in kinesiology and exposure to rehabilitation settings, showed me the power of physiotherapy in improving function, independence, and quality of life. It motivated me to pursue a career where I can continue making a meaningful difference in people’s everyday lives.

Why did you choose UBC/MPT-N?

I chose UBC MPT-N because of its strong reputation and its unique location in Prince George. During my undergraduate summers working in Prince George, I grew to love the community and the incredible outdoor opportunities—biking and hiking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter. The chance to study in a setting that balances academic excellence with a lifestyle I enjoy made MPT-N the perfect fit.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I am most excited to go on placement and explore some of the unique communities across B.C. These opportunities will allow me to experience physiotherapy in diverse settings and gain a broader perspective on patient care. I look forward to learning hands-on from different physiotherapists, developing my clinical skills, and applying classroom knowledge in real practice. Beyond placements, I’m eager to explore the outdoors of the communities I visit while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
