The Graduate Student Experience Team is dedicated to supporting your transition into graduate studies at UNBC. Our goal is to help you feel prepared, connected, and confident as you begin this next stage of your academic journey. All new graduate students are highly encouraged to attend all the below workshops/events as they will provide on-campus student service information. First day of classes is Thursday January 8th, 2026.
Your Winter 2026 gradReady Experience is set to be kicked off on Monday January 5th, 2026 at 11am.
You are strongly encouraged to attend this gradReady Experience for new students. Please click here to RSVP. Deadline to RSVP is Wednesday December 24th at noon.
Brief overview of what to expect:
- Overview from the Office of Graduate Administration
- Lunch
- Overview from the Northern British Columbia Graduate Student Services (NBCGSS) (YOUR student union)
- Health and Dental, Off Campus Housing, Graduate Student Lounge, UNBC Food Bank, Printing, Grad Student Research Offices (these are only for students in research)
- Overview of what you require before you will be permitted to attend a lab
- Grad specific campus tour
- grad specific library tour
