UNBC To Host Information Sessions For Master's Of Education Program

The University of Northern British Columbia will hold a pair of information sessions in the Northwest region for residents interested in the University's master's degree program in Education.
The master's program is of particular interest to current educators who are keen to increase the level of their education. The program includes courses on curriculum development, instructional techniques, and educational counselling. The program has previously been offered in Williams Lake, Prince George, and Terrace. The upcoming information sessions will gauge the level of interest in the program among prospective students in the Northwest.

Madak (Chair of Education), Dennis
Macknak (Director of Regional Operations), and Leslie
King, the University's Northwest Regional Chair.
UNBC is also in the process of developing a bachelor's degree program in Teacher Education. The degree will be a requirement for those wanting to enter the teaching profession and will help to combat a projected teaching shortage in the province. Although the program still requires approval, it's expected the first students could be admitted in September 2002.
