Fractured alliance: state-corporate actions and fossil fuel resistance in Northwest British Columbia, Canada

With UNBC colleague Professor Fiona MacPhail, Global & International Studies Professor Paul Bowles recently published “Fractured alliance: state-corporate actions and fossil fuel resistance in Northwest British Columbia, Canada”, Journal of Political Ecology 28(1), p.488-510. doi: https://doi.org/10.2458/jpe.2967. The article draws on a decade of fieldwork in northern British Columbia and analyzed how an alliance formed to oppose and defeat the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline fractured in the case of the LNG Canada/Coastal GasLink project. The article highlights the role played by corporate and government actors in this fracturing.
