The MBA Program at UNBC covers the major disciplinary areas of business, including strategy, economics, accounting, finance, organizational behaviour, marketing, management of technology, and operations management. Students will build a broad knowledge base and learn the skills required for roles in senior management. Students learn to interpret the organizational environment and adopt new management practices to new demands.
Northern communities across the globe face special operational challenges. Building on the UNBC mission in teaching members of northern communities, the UNBC MBA program will pay special attention to the political, economic and social issues surrounding business operations in the North.
Our MBA is tailored to the working professional
- Most students continue to work while they study. Courses are scheduled on Fridays and weekends (other than two-week-long summer sessions during the program).
- Programs are conveniently offered in Prince George at UNBC’s main campus, and in Vancouver at Langara College.
- Classroom-based delivery offers structured learning environments for adult learners, and team-based work hones participants’ skills in areas crucial for senior management roles.
Students have the option to undertake a project under faculty supervision, applying relevant theory while studying a substantial organizational issue. Students can also complete their MBA entirely through coursework.
Classes are taught in blocks one weekend per month, allowing students to continue working while they learn. Small cohorts facilitate quality face-to-face interaction with professors and student peers.
The total length of the MBA program is 21 months or 5 semesters. Students can choose from two locations; in Prince George, British Columbia at the UNBC campus, or in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Langara College Campus.
