Player to Watch:
Francesco Bartolillo, M
Set to play in the final home games of his Canada West career, Bartolillo is enjoying his best season in UNBC colours. Pacing the Timberwolves in goals and points, the native of Calgary will look to help the TWolves take a major step towards their second consecutive conference playoff appearance.

UBCO Heat (2-6-4)
7th in Pacific Division Standings
13 Goals For
27 Goals Against
Goals Leader: Luke Warkentin: 5 Goals
Assists Leader: Christian Taylor: 2 Assists
Points Leader: Luke Warkentin: 6 Points
Saves Leader: Nicholas Reitsma: 41 Saves

Player to Watch:
Nicholas Reitsma, GK
The second-year keeper has stepped into the starting role and looked the part for the Heat. A native of Kelowna, Reitsma spent last season watching Canada West all-star Mitch McCaw between the pipes for UBCO, and has earned two clean sheets of his own this year. Historically, the Heat play a defense-first game, so the Timberwolves will look to get on the board early against Reitsma

UNBC’s Owen Stewart

On the Timberwolves, heading into the weekend…
“I think we look good. The vibe around the team is really good, so we have to keep just worrying about our own game. You want results, but you try to not think about that too much. Our destiny is in our hands, so if we can pick up some points this weekend, that would be huge.”

On the matchup with the Heat…
“The big thing this year will be trying to get past their good backline, and try to get some goals in. I think if we score early, we can put them on their back foot and that will be to our benefit. It will open up the game a lot more.”

On playing for the Seniors at Seniors Weekend…
“We lose so many bodies this year. We will lose some of my best friends, so it is going to be a tough weekend, emotionally. But we can’t think about that. We have to enjoy these last games at home for them, and it should be a fun weekend.”
