MSOC: Timberwolves' Canada West schedule released for 2019
Following a season that saw program records for victories, goals, and points, the UNBC Men’s soccer team has its eyes set firmly on a return to the Canada West playoffs. With today’s conference schedule release, the Timberwolves now know the nine schools they will be battling along the way in the 2019 season.
The Timberwolves home opener at Masich Place is scheduled for Friday, August 30th against the visiting UFV Cascades.
The final home weekend of the season is set for October 19th and 20th, when the Timberwolves entertain their perennial rivals, the Thompson Rivers WolfPack. In 2018, the Pack went on a three-game winning streak to close out the season and eliminate the Timberwolves, despite having identical winning percentages.
The Timberwolves will not have a fifth-year player on the roster, but return some highly-experienced veterans in Cody Gysbers, Jonah Smith, Owen Stewart, James Stephens, Joel Watson, and goalkeeper Rob Goodey. They will be joined by a wealth of talented freshmen and sophomores in Anthony Preston, Abou Cisse, Michael Henman, Mitch Linley, Graeme Lewis, Demian Dron, and Daniel Zadravec, as well as talented transfer Hussein Behery.
For fans looking to catch all the action, 2019-2020 Canada West TV passes are now on sale, with the early-bird pricing available until the end of June.
