The University of Northern British Columbia’s Board of Governors will be meeting in Terrace and Kitimat on September 21 and 22 for one of its regular meetings.

“The Board is excited to hold this meeting in the Northwest so we can experience the future development prospects for the region and how the University can support communities and industry through its teaching and research activity,” says Board Chair John Turner of Fort St. John.

The Board will interact with UNBC alumni, First Nations, government, health, industry, and economic development officials during their visit, during which they’ll be joined by UNBC President George Iwama and senior administration. The public meeting of the Board will be Friday, September 21, from noon to 2:45 pm at the Kitimat Valley Institute. It will continue Saturday morning at 8:45 am at the Terrace campus on Keith Avenue.

The management, administration, and control of the property, revenue, business and affairs of the University are vested in the Board. The UNBC Board of Governors meets five times per year and is comprised of BC residents, students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
