The Canadian Union of Public Employees has indicated that its members in northern BC will be participating in a show of support tomorrow for the BC Teachers’ Federation. Members of CUPE Local 3799 at UNBC are planning to participate in a walk-out on Tuesday, October 18.  We have been advised that neither picketing nor leaflet distribution will take place.

It is the University’s intention that it will be business as usual at UNBC and classes will be offered as scheduled. Students should plan to come to class. Any assignments will be due as initially outlined by the faculty.

The University of Northern British Columbia is not involved in the negotiations between schoolteachers and the Provincial Government. The CUPE action is not in relation to a dispute with UNBC.
