On Friday, August 5, Alcan Inc. will be announcing a major contribution to the Northern Medical Programs Trust. The announcement will begin at 9:30am in Council Chambers at Terrace City Hall and involve representatives of Alcan and the University:

- Cynthia Carroll, Senior Vice-President of Alcan Inc. and President & CEO of Alcan Primary Metal

- Marco Palmieri, President, Primary Metal, Asia Pacific

- Charles Jago, President, University of Northern British Columbia

The Northern Medical Programs Trust (NMPT) is a partnership of northern communities with UNBC to support the Northern Medical Program (NMP) and its future students. More than 20 northern communities have partnered with UNBC, with an understanding that training and retaining health care professionals in the North is the best strategy for ensuring a long-term solution to the physician shortage in Northern communities.
