Operation Red Nose Contribution

April 20, 1999 For Immediate Release

On Friday, April 23, Operation Red Nose representatives will be presenting the University of Northern British Columbia with nearly $12,000 - the amount raised during the Operation Red Nose program that ran in December. The presentation will be at 10am in the UNBC Fitness Centre. The funds will be directed toward the operation of the UNBC Northern Timberwolves Athletic Program.

"Operation Red Nose helped 562 residents get home safely over the Christmas season, making it the second most successful program in BC in 1998," says Jim O'Meara, Coordinator of UNBC Athletics and the Fitness Centre. "We owe that success to our dedicated volunteers, supporters, and partners." This year, the program was supported by more than 50 organizations and companies. It's expected that Operation Red Nose will be expanded next year and start earlier in the Christmas season.
