Born to Move!

Physical literacy is simply about developing fundamental movement skills, and abilities that help people move confidently and competently, with control in different physical activities, games and sports for life. Why is it important to develop fundamental movement skills? Children learn to feel at home in their bodies. Children develop an “I Can!” approach to a wide variety of physical activities. Learning fundamental movement skills provides children with the building blocks to advance to skills that are more complex. These skills are learned and practiced in low organizational games and inventive games leading to fundamental sports skills like basketball layups, soccer throw in and tumbling.
