UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks welcomed Advanced Education, Skills and Training Minister Melanie Mark to the Prince George campus.

Advanced Education, Skills and Training Minister Hon. Melanie Mark made her first visit to the University of Northern British Columbia on Tuesday.

Mark, who has family ties to Northern British Columbia, toured the Prince George campus with UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks. She also met with faculty, student and staff representatives.

"It was very moving to visit UNBC and hear about  the work that communities are doing to come together in response to wildfires including evacuee support," said Minister Mark. "The innovation, research and learning opportunities available at UNBC will help students as they journey to their full potential."

The visit to UNBC is part of Mark’s province-wide tour of all 25 publically funded post-secondary institutions.

“It was my pleasure to welcome Minister Mark to UNBC and showcase the outstanding teaching and research facilities at our Prince George campus,” said UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks. “As Canada’s best small, research-intensive university, UNBC is committed to empowering next-generation leaders and facilitating world-class research.”
