UNBC Continuing Studies partners with RoboGarden Inc. to offer courses in machine learning and artificial intelligence

Two new course offerings will empower residents in northern B.C. with the leading-edge skills and innovative thinking needed to embrace the opportunities that come with these transformative and high-opportunity fields.

Prince George, B.C. – The University of Northern British Columbia is collaborating with Calgary-based RoboGarden Inc. to provide two new Continuing Studies courses designed to meet the rapid changes being driven by artificial intelligence in industries across the region and around the globe.

The Machine Learning Foundation Micro-credential and the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamp are delivered using a curriculum and interactive online learning platform developed by expert engineers at RoboGarden. The unique, game-based teaching approach is designed to meet learners on their terms, with no prior programming experience or credentials required.

From exploring the concepts of machine learning to solving real-world problems across retail, finance and health care industries, UNBC is harnessing RoboGarden’s expertise to offer practical future-minded learning for those interested in digital upskilling, transitioning into a new career, or a future career.

“Part of reimagining how we educate and learn to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world is through collaboration. Our partnership with RoboGarden to deliver this online, instructor-supported machine learning and AI digital workforce upskilling bootcamp will provide residents in northern British Columbia with the most up-to-date tools and resources in this field,” says UNBC Continuing Studies Interim Manager Stacey Linton. “This innovative partnership will empower our learners with the cutting-edge knowledge and skills to meet the emerging needs of the workforce, both at home and further afield.”

As UNBC works with its community partners to gain a deeper understanding of all the ways AI is reshaping industries, this expansion to Continuing Studies' suite of offerings will help train the highly skilled people needed to drive innovation, find solutions and thrive in the face of these changes.
