Chantelle and Warren Grafton will provide the keynote address at the ninth annual Timberwolves Legacy Night on Nov. 9. The UNBC graduates had their lives change dramatically in June 2019 when Chantelle suffered a serious mountain bike injury.

Prince George, B.C. – Those looking to support student athletes who are intrinsically linked to the community need look no further than supporting the UNBC Timberwolves as they host their ninth annual Timberwolves Legacy Night on Nov. 9, 2023. Tickets to the fundraiser, which provides funding for student-athlete scholarships and bursaries, go on sale today.

“Donor generosity empowers UNBC’s student athletes to excel in their studies and in their sports. Many of our athletes are Academic All Canadians, and our teams have all enjoyed inspiring playoff runs over the past few years,” says UNBC Director of Athletics and Recreation Loralyn Murdoch. “The Prince George community has been tremendously supportive of our program over the years and it shows; I’m excited to welcome them to this year’s event.”

The event’s keynote speakers are Chantelle and Warren Grafton—UNBC graduates, competitive athletes, martial artists, world travellers, and adventure chasers. They exemplify words such as determination, purpose, and joy. The married couple saw their lives upended dramatically in June 2019 when Chantelle became a quadriplegic as a result of a mountain biking accident. Now, a short four years after the life-altering event, this inspirational couple are reshaping what it means to live with quadriplegia. During their keynote speech, you’ll hear tales of perseverance and inspiration coupled with humour and realism, all in a relatable and engaging fashion.

Scholarships and bursaries help UNBC athletes take on additional challenges beyond the classroom and the pitch or court. They give their time to several noteworthy community organizations, support youth camps, coach in the community, and act as role models during their time at UNBC and as UNBC ambassadors when they graduate and become members of the UNBC alumni community.

The event will be held at the Coast Prince George. Tickets are $125 for an individual seat, or $800 for a table of eight. Other ticketing options are also available.
