When Francesco Bartolillo gathered a loose ball and beat Saskatchewan Huskies keeper Greg Buckley on Sunday, September 16th, he cemented his place in Timberwolves history. The goal, Bartolillo's second of the afternoon, was also the 13th of his UNBC career, giving him more than any player to ever play Timberwolves Men's soccer.

The native of Calgary, playing in his fifth and final season with UNBC, was quick to give credit to all his teammates over his Timberwolf career.

"It is always something exciting to get your name in the record books and it's an accomplishment to be proud of. But, the reality is in a team sport like soccer, individual accolades like this are highly influenced by your teammates. I’m very fortunate that during my time as a Timberwolf, I have been surrounded by fantastic players who have helped make it possible. This is as much a team accomplishment as it is an individual one, because without them it simply wouldn’t be possible."

Bartolillo passes previous record-holder Tofa Fakunle, who he knew prior to making his way to Prince George. They were teammates for four years, and seizing top spot from a good friend was not lost on the midfielder.

"It's an honour, considering the calibre of players who are at the top of that list. Tofa, who is my best friend, is a fantastic player and played a huge role in paving the way for what this program has become. Plus, he actually assisted a handful of my goals during our time here. It's definitely something really cool to experience."

With eleven games left of regular season play in his Canada West career, Bartolillo will look to add to his lofty totals. However, the TWolves captain says the ultimate goal is team-focused, with his focus on returning to the conference playoffs.

"It is definitely exciting and I will take the day to enjoy it and take it all in, but tomorrow it's back to work. There is still a large portion of our season left to play, and ultimately the most important thing to me and to the team, is this program's success. That will always come first."
