2018 Graduate Student Conference

Since 2006, UNBC has hosted the Annual Graduate Conference with the goal of providing graduate students with the opportunity to present their research in a public forum and build their CV.  The Conference provides an innovative and exciting venue for students to present their research.

When: Wednesday, February 21 to Friday, February 23, 2018
Where: UNBC Prince George Campus

Conference registration is free for all members of the UNBC community and offers an opportunity to learn about research being conducted within our school.

Call for Abstracts

The submission deadline for abstracts has now passed.

Presentation Types

Papers (oral presentations) will be scheduled for 20 minutes, including 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions. Papers will be grouped in various sessions throughout the conference, according to similar topics and/or disciplines.

Posters will be presented in one session on February 23, 2018. Presenters will need to bring a printed version of their poster to be displayed during this session and be on hand to interact with attendees to discuss their research.

To have a poster printed on campus, please contact the GIS Lab. The maximum poster size is 48" by 48". The UNBC Grad Conference does not cover poster printing costs.

Panels will be scheduled for 20 minutes, including 15 minutes for at least three presenters to discuss around a common theme, and 5 minutes for questions.

Instructions for Submitting Abstracts

Abstracts should be submitted for all presentation types. They must be no more than 250 words and include the title of the presentation, the full name of the author(s) and their email address(es). Content may also include a statement of the topic, research questions, a brief description of methods, and a summary of findings, outcomes, or proposed solutions.

Abstracts should be saved in MS Word format and emailed to gradconf@unbc.ca. The submission deadline was Friday January 26, 2018 at 4:30 pm. Presenters will be informed of their acceptance and presentation time no later than February 9, 2018.
