Join UNBC and the NCCIH in celebrating 20 years of advancing Indigenous public health. The May 7 event includes cultural performances, keynote speakers, a panel discussion and the introduction of Dr. Terri Aldred as Academic Lead.
Hosted at UNBC on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, this in-person and hybrid event will feature cultural performances, keynote speakers, a panel discussion and the formal introduction of Dr. Terri Aldred as the new Academic Lead of the NCCIH.

- Opening prayer by Elder Darlene McIntosh
- Performance by Khast’an Drummers
- Keynote speakers: Warner Adam and Dr. Terri Aldred
- Greetings from UNBC and partners across Canada
- Closing prayer by Elder Darlene McIntosh
- 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. – Panel presentation: Remaining Visionary – Reflections on the future of the NCCIH (In person only)
- Moderator: Dr. Terri Aldred
- Panelists: Aluki Kotierk, Danièle Behn-Smith, Jaris Swidrovich, Will Georgelin
- Opening prayer: Elder Reepa Evic-Carleton
- Closing prayer: Métis Senator Parm Burgie
- 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. – Networking reception in the NHSC Atrium
- Appetizers and cash bar available
