"Ethno-Archaeology of Maritime Adaptation in Coastal Southeast Asia"

 Dr. Ayesha Pamela Rogers

For 50 years the Phuket Project has chronicled, travelled with and investigated the ‘Sea People’ of Southern Thailand using ethno-archaeology as our tool. We have studied the living and archaeological contexts of their maritime adaptation to test our methodology, document their threatened indigenous culture and interpret their resilient lifestyle that offers many lessons for managing modern climate change.
