Will CadelDavid Thompson’s Map of the North West Territory was the culmination of a dangerous life devoted to exploration, surveying and cartography. Today, maps are updated every second. But the future is unevenly distributed. As the techno-literatai experience realtime cartographies, some people are still entirely unmapped. This talk is a look at the state of the cartographic art from the purview of a modern geospatial company.

The Natural Resources & Environmental Studies Institute (NRESi) at UNBC hosts a weekly lecture series at the Prince George campus. Anyone from the university or wider community with interest in the topic area is welcome to attend. Go to http://www.unbc.ca/nres-institute/colloquium-webcasts to view the presentation remotely.

Past NRESi colloquium presentations and special lectures can be viewed on our video archive, available here.
