The UNBC Cumulative Impacts Research Consortium (CIRC) convened a presentation and discussion in Vanderhoof, BC on June 11, 2019 to report on what was learned and produced during the three-year project, “Developing new tools for assessing the cumulative impacts of resource development across northern British Columbia: Integrating environmental, socioeconomic, and human health assessment methods.” This event was free, open to the public, and created space for people living and working in the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako to provide feedback on the tools piloted for the project. CIRC staff presented a preliminary community report that summarized the goals, process, and findings of the project. Additional time was devoted to outlining the tools and processes that CIRC piloted in the course of the project for LEARNING about cumulative impacts; SHARING local knowledge, experiences, and ideas; and ENVISIONING the next generation of integrated assessment tools.
