Orange Shirt Day Activities

Friday, September 28, 2018 - 9:00am to 2:00pm
Bentley Centre and The Gathering Place
Prince George

The origins of Orange Shirt Day begin with Phyllis Webstad and the story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the St. Joseph Mission in Williams Lake, BC.

Since 2013 her personal story has evolved into a national event that keeps the discussion of the impact of residential schools relevant and alive.

Join the First Nations Centre as they host a variety of activities this week to build awareness.

Don't forget to buy your UNBC-designed orange t-shirt at the Bookstore.  They are $12.00 and come in all sizes. Shop in store Monday to Friday or online 24/7.

1.  Stop by the Info Table in the Bentley Centre between 10:00am – 2:00pm where First Nations Centre volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions.

2.  Wear your Orange Day t-shirt and join us in the Winter Garden at 11:30am for a group photo!

3.  Join us in The Gathering Place for rotating free screenings of two documentaries highlighting the devastating impact of the residential school system.
