Gitxsan DSTC - Information Session

The Gitxsan Developmental Standard Term Certificate (DSTC) is a university credit program that prepares students to teach Gitxsanimx language culture in schools.
This certificate is granted by the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) of the Ministry of Education. Upon completion, application is made to the TRB for the Developmental Standard Term Certificate.
  • The full program will meet the requirements for three separate UNBC credentials:
  1. Certificate in First Nations Language;
  2. Diploma in First Nations Language;
  3. DSTC Certificate.
  • Upon successful completion of the DSTC students can transfer theircredits to pursue a UNBC undergraduate degree, such as a Bachelor ofEducation, Bachelor of Arts (First Nations Studies), or a Bachelor of Social Work.

Students must apply for admission to UNBC prior to the program start date and course registration!
