In this discussion Dr. Dustin Louie will discuss and model practical approaches to decolonizing our classroom. Through the use of critical theory social justice approaches combined with Blackfoot frameworks of knowledge a pathway to decolonizing our classrooms will be established. Often teachers speak of not knowing where to start and feeling out of their depth in addressing the pervasive issues of colonization. In this talk we will examine social justice approaches for teachers that can be applied seamlessly into other fields and disciplines.
