The Upper Fraser region, from Prince George to Valemount, provides a microcosm of British Columbia forestry policy and activity through the past 100 years as communities and industries have responded, changed, and transformed over time. Using a series of introductory snapshots, this presentation highlights the opportunities of archival information and data to learn about some of these changes and transformations.

Dr. Greg Halseth is a Professor in the Geography Program at UNBC, where he is also the Canada Research Chair in Rural and Small Town Studies and Co-Director of the Community Development Institute. His research examines regional development processes as well as rural and small town strategies for coping with social and economic change.

This Archival Connections Speakers Series event will be available online at unbc.ca/livestream.
