fRI Research - Mountain Pine Beetle Ecology Program

Date:
Tuesday, March 21, 2017 (All day)

fRI Research has posted a Request for Expressions of Interest for their Mountain Pine Beetle ("MPB") Ecology Program.  There are four research themes, each theme with a series of critical questions, the hope being that when answered, the findings will aid the management and spread of the MPB along with the rehabilitation of impacted landscapes.

fRI Research is asking the research community to review the themes and questions and if interested, to respond by submitting an Expression of Interest by March 21st.  There is a total of $600,000 to be allocated to new research, and the objective will be to select a minimum of five projects. The four themes are:

  1. MPB Biology and Management;
  2. Hydrological Impacts of MPB;
  3. Landscape and Stand Dynamics following MPB;
  4. Social and Economic Implications of a Changing Landscape.

fRI Research Expression of Interest Deadline: March 21, 2017
