Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon Visits UNBC

The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia visited UNBC during its 25th Anniversary, to explore facilities and interesting program offerings. During her visit, Lieutenant Governor Guichon explored: 

  • The Wood Innovation and Design Centre, including remarks about the construction and design of the building by Architect, Michael Green, overview of the Master of Wood Engineering program by Program Ghair Guido Wimmers, as well as an introduction to programming to be offered in the facility through the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. 
  • Tour of the UNBC Prince George campus
  • The Discovery Centre - participatory exhibits and activities showcasing UNBC science and research throughout the 2015 Canada Winter Games
  • The Northern Medical Program during its 10th Anniversary, including showcasing its unique collaboration involving UNBC, UBC, the Government of BC, and Northern Health, as well as its state-of-the-art classroom facilities enabling the delivery of the medical curriculum simultaneously at multiple sites around BC

A special discussion with Lieutenant Governor Guichon was also held with students, alumni, and faculty who are involved with Northern Food Production.
