Dr. Annie Booth, one of UNBC’s first faculty members (Environmental Studies), along with Dr. Theresa Healy, a history instructor at UNBC, and internationally recognized local artists Betty Kovacic and Wendy Young, were selected to develop their 25th Anniversary art project, entitled Reflections – Past, Present, and Future.
The project features two paintings, titled Leap of Faith and The Future Awaits, created by Kovacic.
A series of workshops involving over 40 artists from UNBC and the broader community, were held by Booth and Young to create a series of 26 fused glass pieces collectively titled Landmarks.

Healy complements the collaborative creation of the fused glasswork with her woven words – lyrical expressions documenting the actual group creation process.
The installation is envisioned as a set of artistic links – a journey – designed to lead the viewer from the Teaching and Learning Centre, through the Teaching Laboratory, arriving at the Geoffrey R. Weller Library, the academic heart of the university. Along the way, participants will experience the visual interpretation of the past, present and future of UNBC and get a sense of the community spirit that not only went into the creation of this installation, but into the creation of our University.
Join us on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Noon in the Teaching & Learning Centre Atrium for an opening reception. The artists will be on hand to celebrate the installation of the final works of art that will serve as a legacy project for UNBC's 25th Anniversary for years to come.
Light refreshments will served.
